Ahhh Easter – that time of year when you get to enjoy a nice long weekend, time with friends and family – and chocolate of course! For Aussie rodders it’s also time for some of the best runs in the country – namely the ASRF Nationals and the Narrandera Rod Run. I also had a bunch of mates who went to Viva Las Vegas in the States, but those lucky bastards have been rubbing it in for weeks so I won’t say any more lest they think I’m jealous!
This year I did the ‘visit the interstate in-laws’ thing so it was largely devoid of automotive finery, though we did see a bunch of Pontiacs, Lotus’, Volvos and Citroens cruising along the highway to their respective runs. I’m the first to admit Citroens aren’t my thing, but I’ve got nothing but respect for someone who drives their stock 2CV from Victoria to Northern NSW! Adventures like that are what owning an old car is all about, regardless of your ‘camp’.
So anyway the cool thing about a weekend like this is watching all the pics trickle out from various sources and seeing all the new cars which have been debuted! By pretty much all reports the ASRF nats was great, with heaps of cars and a good location which leant itself to some sight seeing with the family. Check out the pics on ozrodders here, here, here, here, here, and here.
